CW & RF Measurements

Field measurements provide the empirical basis for propagation model calibration, validation and developement. Kimatica has extensive experience in the design and execution of Continuous Wave (CW) and live-network measurement campaigns across a wide range of environments and wireless technologies.

Calibration Methodology

Route Selection & Diversity

Routes are carefully selected to cover dense urban, suburban and
rural environments, using rooftop, elevated and street-level
transmitter configurations to capture representative propagation conditions.

The Calibration Split

Following data collection, a representative subset of the measurement
data is reserved for independent validation, ensuring that the calibrated
model is evaluated against completely unseen data that was not used during the calibration process.

Bias Minimisation & Specialised Models

We target a standard deviation below 7 dB under real network conditions.
This framework allows us to extend beyond traditional cellular planning,
developing specialized models for ground-level deployments, large-scale IoT and smart utilities.

Measurement Equipment & Setup

KTX Survey Signal Generators

Designed and manufactured by Kimatica specifically for propagation model calibration. The KTX series supports cellular and millimetre-wave bands up to 26 GHz, providing a rugged, portable and fully calibrated platform for long-duration field measurements.

Signal reception is performed using high-performance Rohde & Schwarz measurement equipment, ensuring laboratory-grade stability and repeatability.
